


It may be, if your site regularly receives more voltage than its equipment needs. A voltage assessment can show whether controlled reduction or regulation offers a worthwhile opportunity for your facility.
For facility owners, energy managers, engineers and advisers: start with the voltage profile, the connected loads and the way the site operates.
Look for sustained high readings during periods when the facility uses significant electricity. One brief peak cannot establish an energy-saving opportunity.
The strongest case comes from equipment whose energy consumption or losses respond favourably to voltage reduction, while maintaining the required service or output.
A meaningful responsive load, used for sufficient hours, gives an engineering assessment something to work with. Include the cost of the system, its losses and ongoing maintenance.
Check the lowest supply voltage, voltage at distant equipment and motor-starting conditions. The selected operating range must support reliable operation throughout the site.

Measure a representative operating cycle. Record voltage and energy by phase across working hours, peak demand, quieter periods and solar-export periods where applicable. Extend monitoring where seasonal conditions matter.
Assess the engineering and economics. Identify responsive loads; check minimum equipment voltage, motor starting, protection, bypass and generation interfaces. Compare VO with network adjustments and other efficiency options. Include installation, system losses and maintenance.
Verify the delivered outcome. Agree the measurement boundary and baseline before installation. Compare performance at equivalent production, occupancy and weather conditions as relevant, and report coverage and uncertainty.
